Calisthenics January 1984

I wish you a Happy New Year, and I want to thank you for all your good wishes for the Christmas holidays. As you know live a little like a hermit, away from everything, but I do care about you a lot and I give you my best all the time. But, I'm always amazed when the reverse happens and I realize that you do care about me. So thank you.
Speaking of Christmas, I know it has been a long time, but still I would like to know who realized that something happened?
(A number of hands are raised)
Okay most of you acknowledge that something did happen. What? I'd like to have feedback or comments about what you can abstract from the event -- what you noticed consciously, or even intuitively.
(Silence)
You know, very often when I ask for feedback there is a long, long, long silence that is the main feedback. Then, maybe one or two or three have the courage to say a few words, maybe....

Facing "Other" /Living Finer and Finer
….If your mind works sequentially you have to tune your mind to face "Other" or Christ in-the-first-place. Then, for the situation to become more obvious, more evident, live finer, finer in that climate. See what I mean? Then it begins to make sense, because as you live finer, the whole climate becomes a lot clearer, more evident, more obvious.
….. Training finer, finer, as well as relaxation on the level of your mind, is poorly understood -- which doesn't mean you cannot do it better than you did it before, you can. You simply have to observe several important points: First, the relation with "Other" or Christ, then when you practice finer and finer, you have experiential evidence that it does make the difference in your relation. Your mind is kind of lost with "finer and finer," whereas if you relate to "Other" or Christ, finer and finer makes sense. one day you will realize.....

Calisthenics March 1984

Last week we had our Easter session, and I want to come back to it, along the line of symbolic language. The Easter session is related to the symbol of the cross, and the cross itself, in its major aspect, is the symbol of the fourth major initiation, which is accepted as the line that divides, let us say, the initiate without title from the high initiate. In the Christian religion, the Catholics have a cross with the body of Jesus on it, which symbolizes the aspect of sacrifice, and Protestants have a cross without the body, which symbolizes what comes after the cross. So for the Protestants the resurrection is more important and for Catholics the sacrifice is more important, each putting an emphasis on a certain point within the whole event.
There is also a third aspect and that is the one with which we are directly involved. For this we have to go back in the history of Jesus to the baptism. As you know, when Jesus was baptized, a dove symbolically came down on him and he was completely changed. Now according to Christian initiation, the dove represents the coming down of that entity we call the Christ or that others call the Planetary Logos, which dwelt in Jesus....

Calisthenics April 1984

As of this Easter, the Christ Impulse has become operative on the level of the persona in mankind as you know it. This means you no longer need to reach beyond the gap, because there is a bridge and the other side may now come through. The main impact I would like to make is that it is a drastic change of condition, a huge turning point. I want to say a few words about this, so that you might relate to it, not simply as information but as reality.
For people who work with us, this is working now, but it has taken 2,000 years to bring this along from the actual event of Jesus' crucifixion. Up to now, the Christ Impulse has remained fully and completely esoteric for the normal consciousness, so you could extrapolate and say that it might take many another 2,000 years to realize that it is now. Working to give out this life through-out the whole instrumentality (including the persona) implies a very serious reeducation on the level of your patterns.....

Today we will continue with the training of sounding, but first I would like to make a point on the subject of the integrated personality and then answer any questions you might have. "Integrated personality" is a term that is used by Dwharl Khul in the Alice Bailey books. For him, if you can direct your life and do in your life what you intend to do, then you have an integrated personality. For him also, less than this and you are not really fit for spiritual work.
Usually this is heard from the standpoint of the persona alone, so you might not realize that it can be seen from another angle. Our definition of integration is very different -- it's the other side of the picture in which the comedian or Atman has the persona in hand to a minimum degree and can use the persona for its own purpose....

Calisthenics September 1984

Time is running short and we have to go ahead as fast as we can, but there are a few points that ought to be burned into your memory so that you cannot forget them.
First, there is one principle that you have to observe related to how you function. As you know, sensory awareness leads your life, rather more than less. Sensory perception, or to make it simpler, visual perception, is based on perceiving the surrounding world. You see objects because of reflected light, this means your sensory perception is based basically on reflection. The mind, as you know it, is also based on reflection. Everything on the level of consciousness is based on reflection. I have told you this many times. What we hope to trigger is a bit of serious maturing in which you do not listen to what is said and then immediately forget it, but that you act according to the situation.....

Relaxing Centres…
..... Let's say you come from the head down, physically speaking, rather than from the plexus up. Be aware of the tensions in the forehead, in the side of the head, in the eyes, in the back of the head, behind the ears, under the ears, the side of the neck ... It's amazing how much tension there is. Come down to the shoulders and relax the back -- where you have a tendency to tense your head and shoulders forward -- and finally you come around to the front and the area of the mU center and relax that. Or instead of going below the shoulders (where you might pick up the plexus again), you might want to come around the side of neck, then to the tensions in the throat, an'" so on to the area of the mU -enter. That might be easier than coming around the back. In this way you bring another tonality.
Professionally speaking, the ability to sound the mU center and leave out whatever comes from elsewhere is absolutely needed, but, in the beginning, when it is not established, you might want to try what I've suggested....
